How to bad flash a drive without breaking it.
Alright to make a VERY complex situation short I want to flash a drive so it "Won't" read Discs correctly (thus showing like a DvD error) and still be able to revert the drive back to stock. I'm more than likely going to use Jungleflasher, i'm not 100% sure on the drive yet. Im just wonder...

Re: Unable to recognize HS-943 drive on an XP 64 bit system
If you plan on using Jungleflasher:
Try installing Windows 32bit, I was fumbling around with 64bit versions and I eventually gave up and just set my computer to dual boot Windows 7 64bit and Windows 32bit for flashing.
Windows 32bit hasnt had a problem yet, it runs flawlessly

Re: Tools needed for Liteon drives
Thats QUITE cheap. I payed $110.00 which is like £70.00 and I just got the probe and ck3. If you want to do a lite-on 7 series you will need a ck3 and probe. You are paying for both those items, and you get the unlock kit, and the molex connector free. Wouldnt it be cheaper if I simply bought just ...

Re: Tools needed for Liteon drives
Is there anything cheaper than that? I don't need everything included in the kit. I can already flash every drive other than Liteon's. Do you have a link for the bare mimimum things I need?

Re: Tools needed for Liteon drives
For the 7 series lite-on you need a connectivity kit and a probe. For the 8 series, you dont need either, but a connectivity kit will help quite a bit. If your doing peoples drives its alot better to invest in a connectivity kit, as you dont need to pull out your power brick, the 360, and ground it...

Re: Reflashing a Hitachi help
yea, all hitachi drives need to be in mode b before you can work on them, so you can use the slax disc for the 46. however the unlock disc is only for 79's so that's not needed. If I restock the drive and then flash it, whats the point of keeping the origonal firmware? What use is it? Would it help...

Re: Reflashing a Hitachi help

Re: Reflashing a Hitachi help
use the hitachi tab. you have to do all the beginning steps :: mode b, unlock it if necessary and then return it to stock. after that then you can flash with ixtreme firmware. . . it's fairly simply just as long as you don't run into any issues. So before clicking Restore to Stock, do I select Rest...

Re: Mixed Media Disc? Unplayable
Ok just an update for anyone who may be reading this. I read somewhere that the .dvd's that come extracted from XBC are not very reliable so I deleted them and created new ones using abgx360. Then I set the layer break in Image Burn to the specified number and then I burned my games. They work perfe...

Mixed Media Disc? Unplayable
I finally got my Verbatium discs and used XBC to burn the image of my game, Star Wars Force Unleashed. I set the burn speed to 2x and burned the file to the disc (.dvd) and it took about 30 mins. When it finished I put the disc in my 360 which was flashed with IX1.6 and it comes up witht he error of...
