The via card was fast, smoothe, and allowed me to dump over and over.
So I used API mode with drivers installed, and it worked great.

Just the opposite happened. The onboard silicon image 3112 sata would freeze after the first dump.
The via card was fast, smoothe, and allowed me to dump over and over.
So I used API mode with drivers installed, and it worked great.

I notice in Cofree's video of flashing older Hitachi's, he uses "mode select" instead of "classic dump". Is mode select better? Should PIO be used or API? I have onboard silicon image 3112 sata, and also the VIA PCI card. What combo would be better with the old Hitachi? Thanks, I...
