Re: Stuck at "Reading bank 0" with new iPrep, works with old one
Thanks for the quick replies! I don't think I typed the wrong port number because 1) iPrep doesn't ask me for it and 2) when I put it in that bootable CD it was definitely the right port number as I followed the guide to get it. Also when it flashed using the old iPrep the port it said it worked on ...

Stuck at "Reading bank 0" with new iPrep, works with old one
You guys were an incredible help when I had to learn how to swap DVD drives between two consoles so I figured I'd ask this here. Basically I tried to flash my BenQ drive with the 1.5 firmware on the same system I did it in the first place with 1.4. Anyway, I got the newest iPrep, loaded up a USB thu...

Re: Want to take out my Samsung MS28 and put in a Hitachi59
Hey! Sorry to bump my own thread but I didn't want to start another. I have an MS28 I accidentally flashed the wrong key to. Luckily I still have the original unmodified firmware for it. How do I flash that back to the drive so it works again? I tried using iprep, but it doesn't like using firmwares...

Re: Want to take out my Samsung MS28 and put in a Hitachi59
Wow. Worked like a charm.
Seriously, every guide out there gave the directions on replacing the key but none explained how to then flash it. Thank you so, so much. This website rocks. I can't believe how fast you guys replied.
Thanks again

Want to take out my Samsung MS28 and put in a Hitachi59
Hey guys, I found this awesome website a few months ago but found this to be the first time one of the FAQs didn't answer my question. :) My MS28 sounds like a jet engine and when the disk stops reading it sounds like a grinder. The Hitachi 59 360 has red ringed but the drive worked fine before that...
