i know it's an old method but i just didn't have the extra cash at the moment for the sata card. what i noticed was when i cut the traces the power was still 2.7 volts with the toggle off. how wide should i have cut the traces apart? Also would the second method be easier? I'm wondering if they didn...

I tried the method of cutting the traces and adding a toggle switch with no avail. The chip was still getting voltage even with the toggle cut to the off position. Should this method work for any chipset or is still aimed toward via and nforce. I have an sil3112 sata controller.
