I picked up the Droid X on the 16th and I have to say I love it. I have nothing to really compare it since I have never had a smartphone before but I can say that this thing is really fast, I can only imagine what the flash update will do for it :) Btw pdanet works great and It was downloading at 1....

Yeah I think that is the route I would go. The only way i can justify upgrading to the droid and add another 30$ a month in services is if I can tether it but I don't wish to pay another 30 on top of that to do it... that is just nuts. Is there an estimated date to the 2.2 update?

I'm considering getting a droid with the intention of tethering but I do not want to pay an additional fees that verizon charges.
