Sounds like the firmware's intact seeing it will close with a gentle push. Like the guys said try checking if the cables are all secure and connected and if possible get hold of the drive belt from another same drive and see what happens. let us know how you get on.

Did you get it on PS3 or the xbox. lol is that multiplayer map any good

if the male connection fits the controller and the other to the usb, then you can always give it a try and see what happens. worst could happen is, the cable won't charge your controller.

Even though this is an old post, so just incase someone's reading this, yes you can downgrade ps3 firmware's unto 4.11 but would require tools like e3 flasher in order to do it.
Will put up a guide soon, so keep a watch out.

Well you can upgrade it to the latest firmware if you want to play the latest titles. or you can downgrade to 3.55 ofw and install cfw for your backups which can only be run on 3.55. loads of things you can do with a ps3 man just depends on what you after

hey man seems you posted this while ago i hope you found the answer if not, i suspect you have wired the leds with the main battery and if thats the case they will reamin solid as there is no power cut off, simple fix rewire them to the 2 motors instead.
