You can go to the Properties of My Computer select the advanced tab and the click the settings button under the startup and recovery area for options on booting OS.

Thats exactly what i did. I have 3 pcs at my house all with onboard sata. i tried 2 of them to no avail and then went to order my via card. got impatient tried my 3rd system and whutta ya know it flashed but oh well now i have the card for whenever plus its easier to get to then the onboards.

The 7 seconds im talking about is from power on to inside OS browsing. How much ram you have in your system to make win 7 do that, i think i need to go get some more anyway im running 7 with 1gb.HaGGardSmurf wrote:My win 7 takes about 10 seconds to boot. (My xp takes about 30-45 seconds)

I havent tried ChromeOS so far all ive heard about it is that its free and has a 7 second boot time. That is flippin amazing if its truecainhunpi wrote:After, ChromeOS. Just got done building it, it is awesome

Im not sure if there is a list of compatible sata controllers anywhere, but the only thing i would suggest is trial and error.

Yes you will need a SATA controller. whether or not the one on your mobo is compatible idk you can always try it before you go buy the other one though.

I agree i have not found any problems with 7 yet. i like how if you if you come across a compatability issue you can run each program in a VM shell of XP. its similar to compatability mode but its like have a VM on your OS without even noticing it.
