what happens if you boot to an iprep usb drive and just type dosflash..does doesflash see the drive?

if so just delete and reflash via dosflash

thanks for the reply, i got it sorted another way i already had the drive key from a previous flash, so i loaded it up with the new FW in JF used iprep to create a floppy, copied the FM from JF onto the floppy, booted and used dosflash to erase and write the FW tested it back in windows with JF and ...

originally when i flashed it there were no problems but just tried updating to 1.61 and there is a problem :( using JF 0169beta extracted the keys, all saved to a file no problem then clicked into mtk flash and clicked on liteon erase powered off and on, got the response 0x72 but nothing happened so...

going to need to buy another PSU in order to test this now

been on test for 57mins now, not beeped once apart from the 1st turn on beep

i wonder if there is dodgey power going to the unit, therefore making the drive think its turning off and on every 20 secs

removed HDD from the caddy, put it in the HDD testing rig at work, gonna run spinrite on it

soon as i turned the test rig on, the hdd beeped!

so its not a speaker, its the actual HDD itself!

this guy seems to think its the DVD drive, I have a benq drive.. does anyone know where the speaker is in the drive as I'm gonna rip it out if I can find it!

its impossible to watch streaming stuff on it, as all you are constantly waiting for the beep

this is driving me crazy! i have been randomly hearing beeps when playing, but thought nothing of it.. however i today set up streaming video from my pc and when playing video its beeping like every 15-20 seconds

did anyone find out any more info on this?
