I've backed up all my original games previously by creating an iso with XBC and then using XBC to Stealth Check the image and dump the Security Sector and then use KreonChecker to check the .ss file. This way never gave me any problems previously. My 360 has the new 1.51 firmware flashed in as well....

Memorex DL discs don't work with samsungs or Benq drives I know this for a fact. The games will sometimes boot but will freeze in the menu. Just my experience, use Verbatim DL's.
