I have its the same as using the usb stick. They work perfectly.

I do not have a USB stick, I have XD and SD cards though. Okay I have both the programs installed and ready for use.

UPDATE:

I got it to write using a different usb port. but I was a bad flash. the drive still is locked, but when i try the l-o-erass. it hangs with a FF7F, or FF80, but wil neve go to FF72.....

Does anyone have any ideas where I can reflash this puppy?

I found the problem. I had to patch these games due to the fact my Hitachi is only 1.4 iextreme. So it must have messed with the dashboard update. I have a strange problem, when my 20 GB Harddrive is plugged in the game will load and tell me I need a update to play the game, when trying to apply the update it gives me the disc read error. Like I mentioned I can dump the drive fine, it works every time, but when its time to flash neither program will do the flashing, I am not sure what the problem is. I have done several hitachis flawlessly with the old firmware its just the new firmware that is giving me fits. using JF I mean.
