i used to fix them too but too many people didnt understand that it wasnt a permanent fix and its life time could be anything! so ipacked it in, just flashing consoles now

i didnt bother checking mate, it was nothing to to with the drive because i put the other drive in to see if it would work too, no luck :/ first of all when iturned the consol on it game me the xbox intro, stayed black for a while then bam!

your procedure to get you up to date with your consoles is correct, but to get the 9 series lite on console up to date your gunna need to get another 9 series drive, the update will not finish unless the original drive is in the console

anyone on here have any info on flashing the slims then? without having to buy a new pcb or doing the kamakazi attack or whatever its called

i dont have a soldering iron so i cant use the sputnik switch/probe, these both require cutting traces

you need to flash your drive back to stock first mate, then finish off the update, you wont be able to use the gunslinger disc becuase its a copy and your drive will only accept originals (which you should have!) get he update from the net (google 'xbox 260 dashboard update 13599 download') put this...

if you didnt get a firmware dump before flashing then how have you got the right key?

flashing 0800 firmware is the same as flashing custom firmware, so flash it how you normally would
