can MS read your xbox

Post by shaky »

just wondering if you get a game early and play it on your xbox or you have a copy of a game and you play it off line before the release date , can microsoft read your xbox when you go on line and see that you have played that game

Disconnect the console from the network, then pull the power to reset the clock. Enjoy your game! Reconnect to XBL a day or two after its official release date.
But there's no sense crying over every mistake,
you just keep on trying 'till you run out of cake.

Which is why you pull the power first ;) The console loses time when it loses power, all the timestamps will be worthless to M$.

In theory. Though I don't see how they could do anything. Since it doesn't connect to XBL it's not bound by its ToU or CoC.

You will almost never get banned for playing a game early.

A friend of mine used to work at blockbuster and they would get games in 2 - 3 days before the release date, there was even a few that came in a week or so early. I used to take them make a backup and play them until the game was actually released and I could buy it.

If your downloading a game that has been leaked on the internet and is well known, like call of duty if I remember correctly there was a COD game that was leaked on the internet and loads of people downloaded it and played it early. I think they threatened to ban all the accounts but never actually did anything.

It's a risk to play anything early but in my experience nothing ever happens.

There was a rumor that Dark souls had an interesting device for those who played it early. The rumor was that there was an opponent so strong that it would hunt you down and you'd have no chance.

Might not be true, but if it is I like the programmers style. Instead of all the drm etc, make the game play but impossible to get very far!
