11-10-08 Start of a New Ban Wave?

Reports started coming in yesterday on various forums that consoles were yet again being banned. I've read lots of claims that say they have been banned from x-scene to xbox.com. A lot are reporting that they are banned and claims have never modded their console. I take that with a grain of salt, but you never know for sure. C4EVA has reported that the queries to the drive have not changed and suspects yet again, bad rips or scene releases.

With that in mind, tell us your current Xbox Live Status? Can you connect to XBL? If you can't connect, run a network test and see if it fails at the Xbox Live part. If it does, check the status codes and see if it looks like this:

W:0000-000B
X:0000-F001
Y-00A8-6820
Z-8015-190D

The Z code is what your looking for. Report back and let us know either way. Please try and confine this thread to whether or not your banned. If you are banned, some system info would be good. What type of DVD drive, version of ixtreme/xtreme firmware, whether you played early releases, scene releases, etc. You don't need to list the name of the game or the scene release name if you did download it, just if you played an early release or scene release will be enough. This will be the only thread on this forum that it will be acceptable to say that you played such a game for the sake of gathering the information. Anything more than that, your post will either be edited, or possibly deleted.

Personally, I have not been banned, I have two consoles, one with a samsung ms-28, the other with a hitachi 78. Neither have seen early releases or scene releases. Only games that I own and ripped myself.

if im right there is one of my consoles that is banned.

It would also be good to note if you have the NXE update installed, either officially or not. You can still tell if your xbox is banned even though you can't connect to XBL with an unofficial NXE update. The console is still live aware and will still register the same codes if a ban has been placed on that console.

i have not been banned.i have had the console on live for about 15 min now.
maybe it was not the iso i was thinking about.
i will update if need be.

I am not banned.
I do not have NXE installed.
I played early release 3 weeks early but have not played COD5.
I play just about every scene release but none of the suspected scene release review copies.

Not banned.. 3 xboxes running 1.4 BenQ, Samsung ms28 , & a v79

Have checked with some of my friends to see if there systems have gone down & reports are good - no problems

Well i've got 3 machines an ms28, FK79 & a Benq

All 3 of mine are fine, benq, hit 79 and hit 59. Mine only ever see my original back ups. 7 of my mates are fine also, these range from hit 47 to benq. Interestingly i would like to see if the guy on my friends list who was playing cod waw last night online has been hit by the ban hammer !!!! its not released til fri here

i dont thing playing a game a few day early is the problem.
i think they got a bad download of a game on a p2p.

keep in mind guys that most of the time when the bann hammer hits it comes in waves.
so get ban then there is a small break then there will be more.

we have said it a thousand times
dont download games.

nterestingly i would like to see if the guy on my friends list who was playing cod waw last night online has been hit by the ban hammer !!!! its not released til fri here

i was in Gamestation today to get another controller & all the guys in there had been playing it since last thursday as thats when they got it delivered... although they won't sell it until friday.

So you never know he may work for them or another retailer.

4. Was the drive spoofed
- No

5. Backup method used?
- I downloaded from newsgroups

6. Banned?
- Not yet

hope i still wont be banned even after. do people still get banned if xbox sees games being played early, i herd they did for gta4

Looks like there has been some kinda problem again & hundreds of people have been UNBANNED due to tech error at M$ side of things.........

I seem to recall that happening last year.... i think!!!!!
