Yeah, thats one of those things thats hard to post a how to for because of it's nature. Most everyone out there is looking to download the 20 or 120GB hddss.bin which is illegal. Which is also why it's hard to find a guide on doing it. It's pretty simple though. Your supposed to dump the hddss.bin from a legit drive using hddhacker. Then using that hddss.bin, flash it with hddhacker to the scorpio drive. the instructions come in the readme thats included with hddhacker. It's pretty straight forward.

There is, but the bin files are illegal to distribute. So to make one, you have to have a hddss.bin from a legit drive, or use some other "shady" way of getting one to flash to the drive.

No I have a 120GB hdd, and I have an empty shell from a friend's old 360, his burned out and was going to throw it away. I would just like to be able to swap out the drives when necessary. Also I have the CK2 hdd adapter, I just don't know how to use it. I can't seem to find any info on it.

look for hdd hacker. That will be the tool that you need. The file thats in the rar is hddss.exe and I believe it comes with a basic read me on how to do it as well. It's been a long time since I messed with that. Just make sure you save your original hddss.bin somewhere safe so if you want to restore it.

yeah I read through the hddhackr txt file, I was just trying to see if there is such a way of doing it through windows. I'm sure you know, but the adapter has a usb port as well as a sata port. I have an ac adapter power the hdd adpater. With the HDD adapter hooked up via USB. And I can here the sound of something being connected in windows when I hook it up. But nothing happens after that. And while messing the Xplorer 360 it doesn't find anything. So maybe you're right I should just use the dos method.

If I remember right, I ran hddhacker from a command prompt from within windows. I could be wrong, but at least thats what I'm remembering.

Well, actually now that I put my near 40 yr old mind to it, your right. It works through dos. I don't know of anything that works through windows man, sorry.

oh, that was xplore 360 or something like that. That was just to browse and get files from the hdd, not to clone one.

Why not just make a tutorial for doing it? aren't tutorials are 100% legal as long as you are only providing information?

I'm working on the HDD stuff as we speak. It's causing me all kinds of gray hair. The biggest speed bump I've run into is that very little info is available about this.
