Post by commando_lee »

Evening guys and gals.

Ive had a wii sent to me, some times it will not see the game and sometimes it will play the game for like 5mins then freeze and only way to reset it is pull power plug out.

Any one came across this problem before?

The console hasnt been modded in anyway at all

the wii can have laser trouble and gpu/cpu trouble if its been run a lot
if the wii locks up at that point then i would say its the cpu/gpu
if its just the disc that locks up and you can get back to the menu then its the laser

Well not all is lost ive contacted local nintendo service center, they have supplied me with a free shipping label and the most it will cost to either fix or if its beyond that they will replace with a recon unit with 12months warrenty for £28. No i cant complain at that.

update it has been received at the repair centre and this fault was diagnosed

Fault
Wii - White Console Wii Minor Fault (£0.00) : Frozen Picture / Time Fault

Device
Shipped back to customer.

So looks like they have fixed or replaced the console.

MY thoughts

They must have replaced the console as they only received it at 09:10 and it was out for despatch at 13:14 same day.... So could possibly be what you said Cofree as there is no way they could fix that in less than 4 hours as they would have needed to pack it.

Probably simmilar process to the M$ repair centre, if its a known error happening, they will do a straight swap, and throw that console in the queue to be refurbished for later replacement.
