Dell selling new Wii for $214 shipped

Post by BobSeager »

Please don't consider this an add, I thought it'd be useful for someone looking to get a new wii. This is a crazy low price I have never seen the console below list price for a new one.

Dell Home has the Nintendo Wii Game Console for $249.99 with free shipping. Apply coupon code "65G7RQ11J?M2LH" and it falls to $212.49. That's one of the few times we've seen the Wii for below list price. Sales tax is added where applicable. It includes the Wii console, Wii Remote Controller, Wii Nunchuk Controller, and Wii Sports. Coupon ends July 31.

Just a quick heads up, all Wii's are homebrew friendly thanks to bannerbomb. The only problem I see with new Wii's is bootmii compatibility, you can only install bootmii as an ios instead of the more useful boot 2 variant older Wii's can take advantage of. Not a big deal though, as you can still install preloader to avoid bricks.

With bannerbomb, you can install hbc regardless of your model. You don't even need Zelda anymore, just an sd card and some time invested reading. As I mentioned before, the only thing that sucks is that you cannot fully brick proof it because bootmii only installs as boot 2 on early model Wii's, those manufactured before the middle of last year.

You can take a look at this thread, it is not of much help to somebody, but it does shoe that lu64 has been figured out.
