3.80 m33-5 and universal unbricker v4 released

Post by sadalius »

CFW 3.80 m33 gets a new update. Current version is 3.80 m33-5. If your already running a lower version of 3.80, its now super easy to update to the latest version. Just go to your network update option and run it. Instead of connecting to Sony's servers for the update, it now connects to Dark Alex's update service and gets updates from there. If your not running 3.80 already, just go to dark-alex.org and download the first 3.80 m33 and read the read me for more information.

Also released was the universal unbricker for all PSP's to date. This version will unbrick or mod all PSP's to date. If you already have a magic memory stick, then all you have to do is get the official 150, 340 and 380 updates, rename them to 150.pbp. 340.pbp and 380.pbp and put them in the root of your magic memory stick, then put the desparter_cemeterio folder into your /psp/games/ folder on the magic memory stick, then on the PSP go to games/memory stick and run the desparter cementerio application and it will update your magic memory stick to the latest. When its done, you can delete the 150.pbp and the 340.pbp from the memory stick, but don't delete the 380.pbp. When you use the memory stick with your jigkick battery, it will now install the 3.80 m33 firmware instead of 3.71 m33.

If you don't have a magic memory stick and a jigkick battery, you'll have to make ya one. The easiest way to do that is have someone with a modded psp make you one. You'll need a pro duo memory stick of at least 256 MB and a spare battery from a phat PSP. You can use a battery from a lite, but that battery would have to be hard modded and will only work on PSP lite's, these batterys WILL NOT work on the PHAT PSP's. The PHAT batterys will work on both the PHATS and the LITES so thats the best battery to go with. You'll also need the universal unbricker files and the desparter cementario files and any official sony firmwares that the procedure happens to call for. This is a trick to get going, but once you do, you can fix PSP's that people have bricked from a flash gone bad, or just mod one up, very worth the effort if you ask me.
