3.90 M33 update (3.90 M33-2)

Post by sadalius »

A new update just released and we have it available in the downloads section. You can do the update VIA network update if you have 3.90 M33 already installed. If you have 3.80 or before, download the initial 3.90 M33 release and follow the instructions in the read me to get brought up the that release and then do the update.

You can do the network update CoFree. I think you upgraded from 3.80 to 3.90 didn't you?? If you did, then all you need to do is fire up your psp, hit the network update option, connect it to your wireless router and let it do it's thing. If your still on 3.80, then I think you can still do the wireless update, but I would take it to 3.90 manually, then do the network update to 3.90 M33-2.

so how does the network update work with this? or rather how are we still allowed to play ISOs if we use official updates?

In 3.80 m33 and 3.90 m33, the network update feature has been changed. It connects to a server and gets the latest m33 updates :D No longer do we have to worry about accidentally hitting the network update option and installing the official firmware YAY!!!

Sccr, you need to get into it man. If you have the patience to dig through the homebrew, you can find some pretty interesting stuff out there. Especially if you have a phat PSP with the 1.50 addon kernel. Heck, even the slims has some nice homebrew out there.

its one of those things i fade in and out of. im so focused on modding xboxs right now (even though i havent done it for anybody yet) and working on my computer, that i am not interested in the PSP right now. i guess because i havent found a game that really got me hooked on it. i play some NES games that i remember from when i was little, but thats it.

yeah, I play the emu's as well. I use mine for more than games though. Portable web access, where I can find wifi that is. I use it with the Astronomy Club that I belong to with a program called satfinder, plus a few other things that I do while on the go.

Well, see, this is where I get headaches. Since there are phat psp's that can run homebrew based on the 1.50 kernel with the 1.50 add on, and there are slims that can't run 1.50 based homebrew, it's hard to tell what can run on which PSP. At least until dark alex releases the Time Machine for PSP which is supposedly something that will allow slim users to install 1.50 firmware on it.

Every time I go digging through the homebrew archive, I get major headaches because I find something I think I may like, the description or readme doesn't say which kernel its compatible with, I download it, install it, BAM, won't run. Then I have to start all over again. It's not all like that mind you, some homebrew authors put it in their descriptions or readme files, some even go so far as to have two versions, one for phatty's and one for slim's. Sometimes even though you can't get homebrew based with 1.50 to run, you can use a program called eloader to get it to run. Eloader doesn't work on everything, but it does work on quite a bit of stuff. Just to give you an idea how much stuff is out there, the PSP homebrew database lists 1463 homebrew applications for the PSP.

The thing I'm finding myself into more than anything is themes for the PSP. There are some really cool ones out there right now and I'm just now learning how to do it.

how about this .we wait for the time machine firmware .
then get a list of the better ones and start a psp homebrew thread.
what do you think.

I think there is some streaming homebrew out there. I'm just not into streaming enough to know what to suggest.

I only use a certain few applications, so I don't know whats good and whats not. I just picked up a program called piccoz IR V2, its cool as hell. You use it on phat PSP's to control those little piccoz helicopters, air hoggs sells a version of them called havoc heli's. It works through the infra-red.
