First you need to have a working internet connection. I am using a ethernet cable connected directly to my 360. It is hooked up to my router. You will need a ftp program . Im using flashfxp (its 20 bucks but I like it. You can also use filezilla which is free). You will need to power your xbox and go to xex menu to get your IP (once in xexmenu just hit the right bumper till you see your ip at the bottom). Keep your xbox on and in xexmenu. I dont know if this matters but this is how I do. Once you are connected follow the pics below.
