How to make an ISO from a UMD Disk

Post by sadalius »

This may be apparent to some, but others may find it useful. If you have a PSP thats modded then without a doubt you want to make an ISO or a backup of the UMD games that you have. Well, if you have the latest m33 firmware, you can do it really easy.

To do this, you need your PSP with M33 custom firmware, your UMD disk, a USB cable and a computer. First turn on your PSP. When it boots, press the select button. An overlay menu will pop up. Use the down arrow to highlight USB Device. Then use the right or left arrow key to change the selection to UMD Disk. Then press select again. Now insert your UMD disk, connect your USB cable to your computer and then on the PSP go to settings->USB Connection and press X to make the connection.

When you open the removable drive that shows up, you'll see a single file named UMD9660.ISO. Copy that to your computer. When its done, rename it to the name of the game and your done. Yes, it really is that easy. Now, you can copy it to your memory stick, or convert it to a CSO (Compressed ISO) and then copy it to your memory stick and put that UMD up for safe keeping.

When your done, remember to go back and hit select and change your USB Device setting back to Memory Stick.

Hope you find this useful!!
