Bit Rate Conveter or Encoder

Post by COEBRA »

Ive never run into this before but I recently moved some music from my computer to my Blackberry and the bit rate was 1.04Mbps !! The phone wont handle anything over 192kbps I guess. I didnt know music could be saved that high but thats besides the point. Im looking for an easy converter that will change the bit rate but wont change the file information like the album name and stuff. Windows Encoder is a pain and wont move the album stuff... Any ideas? ;)

I use audacity, its free, and easy. When you save the song, it will encode it at whatever bit rate you pick. The only thing is you need the lame_enc so you'll probably need to download it off the audacity site, and put it in the audacity folder, then point it to the location when you encode your first song, then it'll remember where it is for the next time.

Thanx guys. ITunes worked good. It converted all the ones that needed to be done automatically. Ive never used it before so it will take some getting used to. :D
