Softmod issue

Post by yginesta »

I have the 4.1 and I tried to follow the instructions to install the homebrew channel and everything installed fine. When I went to install the IOS36 that is where the issues start.

Here is some info:

I have a wii that I just purchased about a week ago. I have decided to softmod it and does not work. I keep getting the following info:

ES_AddTitleStart returned: -2011You need to use an IOS with trucha bugt hat is what the IOS15 downgrade is good forIOS26 installation failed.

I ran the restore to get the Wii back to factory settings with the files and guide
on this website. I reformatted the USB and tried it again and still no luck. I have the 4.1 wii. Should I upgrade to 4.2 and try that tutorial?

Any help would be appreciated!

I keep saying that. I am using an SDHC card to do this. I wanted to stay at 4.1 because a lot of people have problems with the 4.2 I am using a 4GB card and dont know if maybe this is the issue.

Do you think I would have to restore the Wii before attempting to install Trucha from the SD card?

Ok so I finally got it to work. I was using a USB SD card reader to copy the files onto the SD card from my PC. I went out and bought a 2GB SD card and still had problems until I plugged in a SD card reader bay slot from a HP computer. I stuck the SD card in there and formatted to Fat32 and the install went through with no issues.

Thanks you guys for the help with this and happy new year.
