Hello, I've been having a "Could not detect flash controller" error for a while now and has cleaned up, solder many times and still no breakthrough. The console I have been working on has been a Falcon, brand new never updated straight out of the box made 03-24-2008. I think it may have been that the connections wires to the board for the lpt aren't connected that good that you can't just tend the point and wire and solder, but the wire has to go through the point on the board just a bit, to make an connection, is this true or I just have no clue. :?: :|

Post up some pics of your board so we can get a good look at what you've done. Also make sure that you solder your points to the top of the board ie: make sure the pins you solder in don't go through the board and touch the metal case shorting out anything. It sounds like you may have a resistor or diode in wrong or in the wrong place that's why I would like some photos.

I've wrapped electrical tape around the wires to make sure they don't touch. I don't know but I think I may have not stuck them in enough or not at all, just on top of the tins of the points, are they suppose to go into the board a little bit ?

and oh the brown or one of the wires broke off when I took pictures of the board :|
