You would still have to solder the chip to the clip, unless you get it pre-soldered. Even if you don't get it pre-soldered, soldering the chip to the clip is easier than soldering to the drive circuit board.

Yes. And you do not have to solder any wires if you use wii-clip. Wii-Clip and click d2pro-9 and check it out :)

I think the Wii-Clip is a great invention. Lol. It helps out noobs like myself to the soldering game. I love it so i could avoid a another one of my PS2 disasters. Its simple and easy to install. Next on my list is a new case :p

Just a word of caution, and you may have already taken this update, but if you haven't, do not take the 3.3 system update. It closes the twilight princess hack for homebrew. I would have given earlier warning about this, but I've been on vacation for the past week. There is a new twilight princess hack out at the moment, but no one knows how long it will last. The guys that originally found the hack says there are a couple more options available to them, but they want to research the issue and see what they can come up with thats both safe and workable. They are all recommending waiting before updating on this one.
