Post by jcue »

Hello,

I have a random question. I have 4 gigs of ddr3 1333 (2gig x 2) and wanted to upgrade to 8 gigs. I know i should probably 4 gigs of ddr3 1333 memory but could i install 4 gigs of 1600 memory? thanks for the help i really appreciate it.

you have to know if your motherboard supports multiple frequencies in the ram slots.

if not, you can always overclock the 1333 to 1600

Check for support, your 1600 will downclock to 1333 if you don't overclock your 1333 to keep up. Your computer will always run the lower speed, not 2 different speeds.
