Depends what your motherboard is rated for. If your motherboard is rated for PC2700 and you install two sticks of PC3200, the RAM will run at 333Mhz or PC2700. So just go with the max speed your motherboard is rated for and match the sticks for best results. In other words go with 2x1GB crucial.com sticks of PC2700 or whatever the max speed your mobo is rated for. When I say match the sticks, I mean in terms of brand and size. If you have an OEM (premade) computer, be sure that your motherboard will support 2GB's of RAM. My motherboard has two banks of one, but it is locked in the bios to support only 1GB. So even if I install 2 1GB sticks, it will only read 1GB. If you have an OEM PC, that is something to be aware of.

http://www.crucial.com has quality memory for cheap. They are an excellent site for RAM upgrades.
