My custom computer

Post by sccrbrandon4788 »

So this is always an ongoing project that started 4 years ago. Last year I bought a new motherboard and P4 and installed Vista. The hardware is in a Raidmax case, which I hate because airflow sucks and there isn't much room for additional fans.
My Specs are:
Raidmax Case
Pioneer 111D
SH-D162C w/ Kreon
Rosewill VIA Sata card from Newegg
Belkin Wireless card
NVIDIA 7600 GT 256mb
P4 2.8GHz overclocked to 3.4GHz (FOR SALE)
ASUS STAR ICE 4-IN-1 COOPER HEAT SINK FAN (my jet engine :) )
ASUS P5n32-SLi Deluxe motherboard
2GB DDR2 RAM 667 pc2 5300
NVIDIA SLi 600w PSU 24pin
80GB(Seagate) & 60GB(Western Digital) HDD

I am already about to upgrade again to a Q6600 Quad-core processor from Intel. I also have a motherboard, the DG33TL from Intel, and Vista Home Premium, that I don't plan on using. PM me if you are interested. I am going to get watercooling because I plan on overclocking the Quad-core, mad crazy! I think eventually I'm going to get an 8800, not sure which model, but definately not the Ultra version, way too much money, not worth it to me. Any ? feel free to ask or just PM me!

sounds like a damn helicopter... but may be because i added a fan to one side and the other side came with one... so 2 80mm fans running pretty fast gets loud. i can wait to get my watercooling parts.

I'm due up for a new case sometime after Christmas I think. I'm going to get the Antec 900 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp ... 6203597045). I want to get a new PSU because the fan is driving me nuts and eventually I'm going to get a 8800 and it'll need to be upgraded anyways. Any suggestions? Just stick to NVIDIA PSU?

well what sucks is this happened to me before lol. about 6-8 months ago i bought a new graphics card, found out i didnt have PCI express on my mobo, so I had to get a new mobo. then i had to buy a new cpu because the new mobo was LGA775 socket and i still had a 478... so basically i replaced everything but my PSU and HDD/DVD drives.

Well i felt like cleaning up this topic because 2.5 pages were about me selling it. I'll post pics of the new motherboard when i get it on Friday (hopefully sooner). I'll probably wait a while yet to finish because I didn't realize that it was ONLY compatible with DDR3 which is $200 for 2GB of the "slowest" speed. I don't know if I should feel this way about it but it seems like I'm wasting money getting the 1066 because my motherboard will support up to 1600. Then I think about how its DDR3 and its 1066, faster than anything I've ever used, and I just confuse myself.

To get list:
Memory
CPU Cooler
Power Supply
8800GTS
Antec 900 case
~$600

For it to work I just need the CPU cooler, Power supply, and memory because hopefully my video card will work for the time being, and I don't need a case right now.

NEW MOTHERBOARD!!! and GOODIES!

Post by sccrbrandon4788 »

I got my motherboard in today. It's beautiful!!! It also came with some eSata and Sata cables. You'll see in the pictures that I got some case brackets that will allow me to keep my computer closed when doing xbox flashing :D I was so hyped when I saw those brackets, I put one in my "Flashing" computer.
Here we go: (you can click on them to make them bigger)

Huge set-back today. I'm not going to be building this computer. Its costing way too much and there's a lot I need to take care of. I now have to sell this motherboard and I'm hoping the company I bought it from will refund me the money, maybe minus a restocking fee. If you guys know anybody that is looking for an awesome motherboard this is it. Its brand new, I've not taken it out of the plastic tray and has everything in it that it came with. $310 Shipped to US, will ship elsewhere if given a shipping estimate. Help me out guys.
