dual booting 7/vista

dual booting 7/vista

ok so im trying to dual boot 7 and vista.
and its not giving me the option to pick which one i wanna run. it automaticly goes to windows 7.

any ideas?

i believe you messed up installing. Win 7 needed to be installed first. then vista. as windows7 over rights the Master BOOT record of vista. there are 3rd party programs to fix this. i know of some for linux / windows but not win/win do a google search.

im so retarded. anyway i got it to work. i used easybcd. had to make a few adjustments.

You can go to the Properties of My Computer select the advanced tab and the click the settings button under the startup and recovery area for options on booting OS.

You can typically edit the boot.ini file and edit the timeout option that lets you pick what you want to boot up to. Its a hidden file so you have to allow hidden files and folders to be able to see it in the WINDOWS folder. Just don't delete anything or you'll screw up the system.
