reflashing a lite-on

Post by piojo »

hello

I tried to search for this but I haven't found any topics related.

I have a lite-on drive flashed with 1.6 fw and I have a few questions about reflashing(when 1.61 is out):

1) There are some rumors that say that if you power the drive with the xbox itslef, a notice will be logged and there's a chance of getting banned. is this true?

2) if I have the original dummy,key... files can I use them or is it better to extract from the drive?

3) to extract from a flashed drive, I just need to power the drive and connect the sata cable, right? I dont need a probe or a ck3 and to connect the serial/usb connection?

yeah if you have a COM port on your pc. i always dump a drive a couple of times to ensure the keys match. if you're reflashing you can redump or use your original dummy.bin.
