XBC Fails to Read

Post by bittersuit_98 »

Trying to make backup of Operation Flashpoint Red River. Using latest XBC.
After a few seconds within the reading, XBC shows an error message "xtreme style game partition system not present. Cannot continue making a full backup".
I've followed several tuts to do the rips but non mention if I need to change some settings.
Any ideas what could be wrong??? I've tried with 3 different games....both old games and new games with the same results.

Thanx for any help
If it of any use, below is the reading log:

you do have the new v3.0 0800 firmware in the benq right :?:

if you do, i would flash back to the old 0800 just to see if it would dump a old game

I'd agree with cofree, I had no problem backing the game up a few times back when it came out. The new 0800 FW may be the issue.

It could also be the new XBC, if your using the newest 0800 FW on your drive, use the latest XBC.

About this issue, I had posted in another thread similar problem with the v3.0 0800. I was able to backup and detect the GOW 3 game but when I tried to do the same with Driver: San Francisco it didn't detect as been in the drive nor option to back it up.

Now I did the same thing using the same XBC but with my kreon drive, it detects and backup both of the games with no problem. I believe the 0800 fw could have a future update to resolve the issue.

Hope this helps, now I am back to the kreon drive.

EDIT: What about if uses BUILD: 345 of XBC, as he is using 306?

After further research I though it might be an issue with the DAE.BIN files. Do you guys think it might the DAE files?

OK...I'm reviving this thread.

I tried to backup Fifa 12. I'm using a VAD6038 with latest 800 fw. Also using XBC 2.9 (345) for this one.
I tweaked the default settings and selected the VAD6038 as my default reading drive.

I also tried to backup older games with previous versions of XBC with the same result.

Error message is "ixtreme partition not present" or something along those lines.

are there any other settings that I might be missing here?

the only thing you should change in xbc is the read speed to 4x speed
and yes the drive you are dumping with

there is only a few things it could be
1.game is dirty make sure they are good and clean
2. the benq dvd drive with the 0800 is not good weak laser
or firmware not 100%

if it wont read any game then it has to be the drive is bad
for one reason or another

Make sure you've got your drive set in XBC, my bet is the laser is weak or you have a setting incorrect somewhere.

I've only ever had the ixtreme not present error once or twice when I hadn't set my drive to 0800 mode (using 1.6 back in the day)

Ok...where in XBC do I change that setting? I mean, I'm pretty sure that I had my VAD6038 selected on the drop down menu under the "Options" tab.

As to bad laser, I doubt it. It reads games just fine when mounted in my console.

Thanx

Yea, that is what I was talking about, the drop down in the options menu.

Update:
I found the problem and fixed it. It wasn't a weak laser after all. XBC burning tutorials do not mention this, but I found it to be a critical component to have a successful reading:You MUST extract the dae.bin file into the XBC root folder, otherwise the reading will fail.

So any time you run into a ixtreme partition not detected error the most likely problem is that the correct dae.bin is missing

thanx for the input
