its a 28, can i still flash the thing? ive heard the 28's are a problem

yes
all drives can be flash now
the v28 has never been that hard to flash
the v79 hit dvd drive
and
the 84 v2 and 93 liteon was a pain for awhile
but are now flashable
they are the hardest drive to flash
