Got somebody to send me their xbox!

Post by sccrbrandon4788 »

So I made a slideshow with a bunch of info on it and posted it on YouTube. I had a guy in Illinois message me and sent it to me. It was a ms28, go it and flashed it in the same day. Got $40 out of it. I hope it will pick up because I can do this stuff and make some money on the side for my expensive tastes (or should I say my girlfriend's expensive taste)...

Cool man. You're probably losing business because robinhood's playground makes it sooo easy to flash a drive! :lol: :lol:

haha. but people are not always comfortable doing that stuff. nor do they want to risk screwing it up, or pay to buy a sata card and have to buy that online, which most people dont like purchasing online for security reasons.

Make sure you have a good understanding of things before you post stuff like that man.
The firmware the guys flash in is a " free firmware " from the guys that code it.

@warrig

flashing a console and making legal backups of your games is not breaking any laws

flashing your xbox solely to pirate or download games is illegal

its 2 different things

the only gray area is the backup.
The way you get them is even more so.

I know several of us have ads on Craigslist. Mine includes all kinds of stuff like simple repairs, LED mods, drive flashing, and a few others. I've made a decent amount of money just from my local area. You can post where ever you like and have people ship you drives if you want as well but I feel it's kind of a hassle.

Sorry not to offend anyone I didn't mean it like that now I know because in my debate class and we just happened to do copyright and backup law studying and i just HAD to raise my hands and ask about software backups and its perfectly legal as long as you have license key Receipt etc (which most of us have right 8-)) AND PROOF OF PURCHASE otherwise its completely legal right? YES?!

Thats only to prove you own the console. If you didnt have those, (theoretically) you stole the console which is illigal.

Nothing about flashing ixtreme FW is illigal. It would be illigal if the firmware contained portions of M$'s stock FW, or ixtreme was copyrighted by the creators.

iPod/iPhone jailbreaking is illigal though, due to the fact you take apple's stock firmware, and patch it with the jailbreak exploits. If the iPhone dev team wrote its own FW, (like ixtreme) it would be completely legal.
