Info on FW hacks

Post by sccrbrandon4788 »

I have 3.10 OE-A' from Dark Alex but its been a while and I don't know how to go up from there. I saw there is a 3.80 out and would be interested in updating to that.

I would actually suggest that you build a pandora set since you already have a modded PSP that way when you finish, you can run it and it would upgrade you to 3.71 m33-2, then you can upgrade to 3.71 m33-4 and then to 3.80 m33. Otherwise, you can run the gauntlet with upgrading to 3.52 m33 and then updating to 3.52 m33-3 and then upgrading to 3.80 m33 and then updating to 3.80 m33-2. Confused yet? I am!! But seriously, if you need anything just let me know man!

Just keep in mind that any homebrew that you have thats based on the 1.50 kernel will not natively work after you move to 3.80 or 3.71 CFW. You can use it on the 3.71 CFW if you use the 1.50 add on patch v2 only on a phat psp. The lite doesn't support the 1.50 add on and neither does the 3.80 CFW on either the phat or the lite.

But you can get a homebrew app called eloader that will let you load a lot of homebrew that was based on 1.50 kernel.

Be careful man. Even though you go through everything like the read me says, you could still end up with a brick. PSP's are funny critters as cofree just learned!!

You can put them in either the GAME150 folder or the GAME folder. Just make sure to check the readme, it will tell you if there is a specific folder they need to go in.

I've just been downloading the vids from youtube by going through keepvid.com and just putting the video on the psp in the psptube/favorites/ folder. I haven't played with it that much to know how the rest of it works for sure. I'm back in the chat room if you want to join us there.
