That might be something to think about on that one that you have that doesn't read so well cofree. If the drives on ebay are cheap enough to make it worth while.

Yes, you can swap dvd drives. They aren't married like they are on 360's. So if you find a drive thats got a chip that you like, and you can spare the change for it, it will work as long as there isn't anything physically wrong with the drive. You don't even have to worry about what version it is, DMS, D2B, D2C, D2C2, they are all interchangeable.

I'm not sure, but when you go to get your drive, you might check with your source if regioning is important or not. I would imagine that it is so I would check up on that part of it.

yeh sure thing but they are probably pal and will definately confirm that but i think the region is controlled by the bios isnt it but if the drive is not married to the board then it may matter, thanks man will confirm that first before buying.

I'm thinking region is controlled by the player because you can override region settings with most all modchips. Well, most games will interchange with a modchip anyway. Just something that I thought of and it may not make any difference, but worth checking on just in case :D

i asked the seller about the drive and he goes goes its been pulled out a faulty wii and is refurbrished. so i guess i wont b going 4 that. i m just gonna get this d2c chip with that clip, i think its called pre-soldered one and it should fit straight on, some people are saying its not 100% efficient... is that true?

Well, you can get that with anything really. Most people that I've talked to are very happy with the clip. Some, though, don't know how to handle the darn thing and try to put it on with a hammer or something and bend a pin or 2. Simply put, most resellers test the presoldered ones so you know unless something happens during the shipping, it should work.
