what the f#@k

Post by kennethc81 »

check it out these pics are from a 360 samsung drive that was employed to me to try and fix. now i fixed plenty of 3rod and done a couple of pot tweaks all with a sucssesfull outcome but this is stupid. i dont know if the drive blew then the owner tried to fix but obviously his or her soldering skills are less than par or the drive just freaking blew up

so the ? here is how can i get the key off the drive to spoof a different drive to replace it. i did actually get iprep to find the drive once but my excitment got the best of me and i f'd up the dump now i cant get it to find it again and ive tried every freakin combo possible. again im not a nub to this but this is new to me, any suggestions or just call it quits. all the black crap i s epoxy so trying to trace the leads and jupming them with the correct components is out. sorry the pics kinda suck i used a iphone with a 10x glass over the lense to get a close up.

wow
i think it was dumb luck if your computer found the drive .
the only thing i can say,and its not much help is to try and fix the drive.
you can can get a drive like it you could try to replace the parts that are burned.

the way i would look at that thing is it would take me longer to fix and cost more than if the owner just picked up a new ,or used 360

by the way i think the picture came out great doing what you did. ;)

your right, i think it was dumb luck. i think even if i didnt jack up the dump it still would have been a bad dump with a key full of f's. i do have a exact samsung drive that dosent have epoxy all over it and i counld take the components from that drive but with no solder points on the burned drive i wouldnt know were to put them. ive sat with my magnify glass trying to trace a test point or anything i could jump them to to try and make some sort of connection but the damn epoxy is blocking everything. also your right about telling the guy to just buy a new or used one but with most men its a matter of pride i said i could fix it with full confidence and i dont care that i only asked for 20 bucks i want to fix the damn thing. one for knowledge two for pride and reputation but i think ill have to swallow the pride on this one. but trust me i wont give up till im absolutly sure it bunk. thanks for the compliment on the pics i tried and i guess it worked out all right, i love my iphone.

I don't think it has anything to do with pride. If it's me, I go back to him and show him what you're working with (just like you showed us). If he can't understand that its FUBAR than he's a dumbass. Unless of course, that is your work and you just want us to help you fix your screwup!  :D :D

nah its not my work, and i wouldnt be dumb enough to think anybody can fix it, the only reason i even tried was i got iprep to see the drive once otherwise i would have done what you said and told him he's screwed. but its all good i just built him another box out of ones i have laying around. on a different note i did get iprep to find the drive again more than once but it would never dump not matter what i did so i said f it.
