Internal Stack Overflow

Post by Ryuusen47 »

Hi everyone, I've been trying to flash my BenQ VAD6038 using iPrep and have run into some issues. Well, ok, one issue so far, and that' Internal Stack Overflow. I've used iprep 101-006, 006.2 beta, 007.3 beta. the first two both give Internal Stack overflow errors, while the 007 says 'BACKUP/PATCH FAILED' with no reason why it failed.

I follow Textbook's tutorial to the letter.

The overflows have occurred in two places. The first (and most common), is when i resend the MTK info, and as soon as i power on the xbox it overflows. The second (only happened once) was after it successfully read all four banks and gave me a datasum. Then it had an overflow and stopped.

For my sata connection I am using http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6815124022" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which uses the VIA VT6421 chipset.

I have tried different ports on the SATA card, and I've tried different cables as well.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

well 1st
only use iprep v006.2
do not use v7 at all.
klutsh pull it for having bugs.

if you are running vista.
the first thing is to right click on iprep and run as admin when you build your boot flash
if your computer does not have a floppy drive installed.go into the bios and make sure its disabled .It seem that most of the time its still turned on even though there is no floppy installed.
you also need net framework v2.0 installed in the computer(that should be in there already)

i'm using vista ultimate 64 bit, and tried iprep 6.2 again. ran iprep as admin, disabled floppy. managed to read the banks and get a datasum, but immediately after it gives me a stack overflow and stops. i don't have any other sata devices plugged in, or really any other devices plugged in for that matter.

I don't know of any programs with will work with 64 bit XP or Vista. In fact, the few people that I know that have tried to come up with something bricked their drives trying it. It corrupts the data being sent from the drive somehow so what ever gets written back, well, its corrupted. So it bricks.

If you use a different computer with 32 bit XP or 32 bit Vista, you should be able to get it done. You could even do it with your 64 bit computer if it will run a 32 bit OS. You could possibly setup a dual boot solution. but if your not familiar with how to do that, I would recommend just using a different computer.

It means Microsoft is tracking you down man. No, just kidding about that!!

I'm not sure about the red light, I always use a connectivity kit to keep from having to use the 360 as a power supply. Maybe one of the other guys might have an idea about that one.
