You could do something similar with the CK3. You would just have to tap into either the TX or the RX wire (can't remember which one you need though, I think it's RX) on the CK3 and attach your own probe. Something as simple as a wire soldered onto a stick pin or needle would work. Then you just insert it into the TX hole on the board and your good to go. No soldering or anything. I like the idea of not soldering on this drive for the sake of having to send it back if needed.

the one thing i have not read is if you have to/need to unsolder the rx/tx after you get the keys.
im thinking of putting in a switch on both rx and tx just so i dont have to open the dvd drive everytime i want to flash.

well, you don't even need to worry about the RX part of the drive. You only need the TX part. The commands to initiate the dump is sent across the sata port. The results is transmitted out the serial port on the TX line, of course. If you don't care about soldering onto the drive, a switch would be great to keep from having to take the drive apart everytime. I like the idea of the probe though.

ok
got that
but
lets say i solder the tx on the dvd drive.
then after its all done and i want to put it back together should i unsolder the tx or do you think its ok to leave it soldered and
play a game.
i think you would have to unsolder the tx or be taking a big chance.

You can leave it soldered. All it does is complete the path of the circuit to the pin on the power cable connector. MS won't be able to detect anything special with it soldered.

"As if that wasn't enough, Team Xecuter have also bundled in a FREE SATA hard drive adapter..."

Do you still have to take the HD out of the case?

Also, I plan on doing a few lite-ons once the method is publicly released and true. Is this the baby to get?
