benq VAD6038 wont flash via6421a sata

hi

im trying to flash my benq vad6038 drive via 6421 sata card using a xp machine using ixtreme 1.41 and iprep oo6 using usb method.

i flashed my own one with no problems few months back now this is a freind machine im trying to do,when i type dben and go througth instrustions and turn on the xbox i get no movement on numbers etc its just stuck 07ff i think it says and its says and mtk intro failed.

any ideas please

im no sure what you are talking about

with iprep v6.2 you will have to use the via6421a or l sata card

im using the 6421a card and i am using the guide on here when turn the 360 on ,the numbers dont change on dos flash ,it stays at 0x7ff and also says abouve mtk flash intro failed , if that makes sense

yes sorry im using iprep and yes i have checked the mtk,i have tryed version 5 and 6 of iprep,bit none of them seem to work

use iprep v6.2
ok so the D1 is not flashing right.
after you make your boot flash the D1 will not start flash for it to dump.
if that is right here is a list of stuff to try.
What that means is the computer is not seeing the 360 drive.There are many different thing that can be causing this problem.
Chipset will not work.Most sata ports on the mobo will not work.
Try a different port on your sata card.The port closest to the front most of the time is the one to use.
Try a different sata card.This a card that is known to work

Try a different sata cable
Put the sata card in a different pci slot
I would try this just for kicks before the next step.Try a floppy maybe that will do it (don't hold your breath)
You may even need to try a different computer.This is rare how ever it will happen some time.

just a quick question what does mtk intro failed mean ?

It tries to send some vendor codes out to the different drives to get some manufacturing information back in return. They will always fail since the drive isn't in a state to be dumped/flashed at the time they get sent out so thats no big deal there. The part where the status codes doesn't change is the concern here. It seems as though the drive isn't communicating which generally means that its trying to send the data to the wrong sata port. I would try plugging it into a different sata port. Most generally, its the port on the inside, closest to the front of the computer.

if/when you get it to dump.
stop right there and make sure to check your key with firmware toolbox.
it should be a list of different letters and numbers.

changed the sata lead and changed it to the front port on sata card and it worked first time .


all that head ache for somthing so simple
