Iprep Speeds

Hey guys, i have been looking for a while and I think I have the info I need but I just want to make sure.
I am using Iprep to do a samsung drive, I flashed it ok at 12x but it seems like its not reading th discs that well.

Im thinking I shold try a lower speed correct? Will this fix the issue?
The 360 original drive speed is 12x correct?
and I can just flash over my drive since its a samsung right?
I am using verbatim DL discs so I dont think its a disc problem. this 360 is a replacement from a RROD one and my older one played them fine.
