Cannot read from Hitachi 78

Hi,

I have a Hitachi 78FL that I want to mod, but I have a problem.
I hooked up everything correctly (I think): Drive connect with sata to my motherboard (also tried is with the VIA 6421 card, the VIA card doesnt even get the drive in ModeB). Used a SLAX disc to get the drive in ModeB. So far everything was going right.

Now i was in Windows, Windows reconized my drive (drive letter K:) and now I opened Firmware toolbox 4.8 (also tried 4.7 and 4.6). When I Clicked on RAW Dump Firmware as and choose a location, it says: Cannot read from drive.

What can I do? The drive is reconized perfectly in windows..
I used an original Assasins Creed disk, and also tried it with Viva Pinata..

are you sure its in modeB

you can try one of the tools that make it where you can get the drive in mode B with out slax.

All the signs of ModeB are there (2 times to eject etc.) and it's reconized in windows (that must be modeb). But I will try it with the app you gave.

I tried it, but the program says it cannot find my xbox 360 drive.. What to do?

Edit: With the VIA card it will bring my drive in modeB.. But I can't see it in My Computer. And Firmwaretool doesn't detect my drive..

It's done.. I had to click: Make it visible in windows.
Now I have flashed my drive, but it doesn't read backups very good.. Or it's very slow, or it says: Unreadable disc, try to clean.

Did I something wrong? I used Arita and Memorex DVD's. Memorex didn't even boot, arita booted, but usually in the main menu, it says unreadable disc or it goes very slow (fable 2) (the sound of: Now the story begins, is very stuttering)..

the hit dvd drive can be a little pickie.

now just get your backups working.

i heard those arita aren't bad but i guess not that good either ?

oh well all i ever use is verbatim, but also i would assume as with what everyone says that hit drives are too picky.

i would steer clear from memorex tho for sure. lol.

Thanks. I used another DVD brand, MediaRange (cheaper then arita and memorex) and this one worked fine.. So the modding part is done. The Drive is a little bit picky.

So the solution was to use the ModeB from Xtracter tool and not from Slax.
