Hello,
I'm a beginner on flashing the Xbox 360 but willing to learn. That is also how I stumbled upon this program, but I have some questions about it.
I have a samsung ms28 drive.
First of all: does this software include everything required for the flashing process?
Second: will I be able to flash my drive with my current hardware? It's a Gigabyte EX38-DS5 motherboard with six SATA ports on Intel ICH9R controller and two SATA ports on a Jmicron JMB363 controller.
Third: if I understand correctly the flashing using this program works like this: prepare USB stick using iPrep v0.0.8.8, boot Xbox 360 and PC at the same time, boot PC by USB stick into DOS, read the firmware, go into Windows again and check with Firmware Toolbox whether or not the key is correct, go back into DOS and proceed flashing where you left off. Am I right? I don't have to replace anything with Firmware Toolbox right?
Fourth: I don't specifically need a Connectivity kit, right? I heard there are some other ways if you don't have one but which are those exactly? I heard something about using another banned console, but what's up with that?
I hope you people will be able to answer my questions.
Thank you very much in advance.

you will need to get the ixtreme hack firmware from xbins.

dump/flash with the new ipre works a little different
but
i would say get this card it works.
http://tekgems.com/Products/la-pci22-vt6421a.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
or one like it with the via6421 chipset
no you dont have to power the 2 systems at the same time.Zinu wrote:Third: if I understand correctly the flashing using this program works like this: prepare USB stick using iPrep v0.0.8.8, boot Xbox 360 and PC at the same time, boot PC by USB stick into DOS, read the firmware, go into Windows again and check with Firmware Toolbox whether or not the key is correct, go back into DOS and proceed flashing where you left off. after you are booted on the flash and in dos hook the stuff up then power on the dvd drive.
all you are doing with toolbox is looking at your key.You dont do any thing else with it for what you are doing.
well you have to have a way to power the dvd drive .Zinu wrote:Fourth: I don't specifically need a Connectivity kit, right? I heard there are some other ways if you don't have one but which are those exactly? I heard something about using another banned console, but what's up with that?
most of us use a kit of some kind.
there are some that use the console itself to power the dvd drive.
we dont like that way.just in case the console is logging the fact that it was powered without a dvd drive hooked up.
have a look at this.
viewtopic.php?f=110&t=3266" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
its for 8.6 but it works the same.
if you have any more questions just ask.

Alright, thank you!
But you don't know anything about a method using a banned/RROD console?

Re: Flashing ms28 with latest iPrep

Re: Flashing ms28 with latest iPrep
So just hook up power to banned console and sata to PC motherboard?
Re: Flashing ms28 with latest iPrep
yea
you may need this card

the new iprep is better but
there can be trouble with some on-board sata ports.
