well i would think it should work
Re: laptop to HDTV - Full 1080
The only thing I'd be concerned about is video ram. Blu ray playback form a hard drive requires quite a bit of power in order to process video files at 1080p. That laptop has dedicated onboard video and its a little hard to find info on that chipset relevant to the topic.
The laptop in your post has "Intel GMA 4500" and there are 3 divisions of that chipset as it relates to HD video-
X4500HD GMA offers additional feature over the G43/G41 with the support of full HW decode/acceleration of MPEG2/VC1/VC for smooth HD-DVD/Blu-Ray playback experience
and
The difference between the GMA X4500 and the GMA X4500HD is that the GMA X4500HD is capable of "full 1080p high-definition video playback, including Blu-ray disc movies",[12] the GMA X4500 however does not have that capability.
I mean based on the second statement, I would say the plain "Intel GMA 4500" does not support it (only its breathren)...I am by no means an authority on this. It's been awhile since I've played around with HD playback (files just got too large).

If you scroll down about midway you'll see a breakdown of teh 4500 series. The only issue you may have is playing the video from your laptop HD to your tv. It may not decode the video fast enough.
But connection wise, yeah hdcp-capable graphics card to hdcp-capable TV shouldn't be an issue.

Re: laptop to HDTV - Full 1080
From personal experience, my laptop came with an s-video to HD adapter. I play movies from my laptop that rip from my friends and play them through the adapter using HD component cables. The picture quality is good. I just run the audio through our surround sound using the headphone jack to AUX.

with those specs, you shouldn't have any issues playing blue ray discs or any h.264 type hd files through to your tv. just enjoy

Re: laptop to HDTV - Full 1080
the specs look good and the laptop has enough power to run blu-rays with ease and you definately would get 1080p out of it.
by the way does the laptop have hdmi out or dvi out. it it doesnt have none of these then you wouldnt get 1080p you would only get 720p.
