no i just loaded all the firmware cause i thought that was what had to be done but i guess with the 8.8 version you dont need to. but i did just type in the lite-on firmware. so as far as the computer not seeing the drive dose it make difference how far the drive is pushed in or not. i had tried putting just around half way but maybe it has to go in some more. Like almost 3/4.

So what steps did you take in order to do that.I used iprep to do my lite-on drive cause it seemed to be the easiest way but I'm open minded to other ways of flashing a lite-on drive

For lite-on drives I read the key in JungleFlasher and then make the firmware. I load the fw onto my USB stick.

I then reboot and set my USB stick to first hard drive for booting.

It loads into the iPrep DOS screen and I use l-o-eras ec00 3 (sataport com#). My COM3 is the USB cable off the CK3.

Then I turn the lite-on drive off. Type in 'dosflash' and select the Lite-on drive from the List. It asks to send the Magic Command I say Yes. Then I turn on the Lite-On and it finds it instantly.

Type in W to write and enter the name of the .bin.

Non lite-on drives are done in the same fashion without having to do the l-o-eras.

When using jungle flasher do you have to uninstall the via raid card? And what about the tray position on the lite-on.

No. I use windows_v-raid_v580c.zip for the VIA drivers. Before clicking 'Get Key' in DVDKey32 inside JungleFlasher, you must eject the try, turn ck3 off, push tray in 2/3 of way (CoFree method) and then turn the ck3 back on. Should read key instantly once you click get key.

Just remember to install the CK3_USB drivers which you can find in the downloads area of this site. That way it will pick up the usb cable coming from the CK3.
