Does the R707 hole look clean? By that I mean does the R707 hole have PCB lacquer over the hole? Maybe you need to scrape just a little of the lacquer off the hole in order for the probe to get a good contact?

have checked and ithink the contact was ok. well here is an update it was my friends xbox that had the dimm green light
ass he was willing to take the risk and let me have a go, so i have just opened my own up and noticed that my light goes bright green so i was well pleased i think i might not have had the connection going in to the xcuter in far enough
but not sure as my friend has taken his xbox home note its still working :D so after running iprep on my drive with good green light it still wont read the files it says

dvd.key is invaled
file not found-key.bin
file not found-dummy.bin
file not found

any ideas many thanks

How do you have your CK3 connected to the computer? Hopefully not using the USB connection, as there is no USB support in DOS mode. Usually what this means is the wrong com port is selected or it's not able to communicate through the CK3 for some reason.

What I would do is this. Boot into windows and use the CK3 tool to identify what com port the CK3 is on and then do the same for the sata port. Make sure you have the Ck3 divers and the portio32 installed before connecting up the CK3 in windows though, if you have to install the drivers, you'll need to reboot before connecting the CK3. Once you've figured out the proper com and sata port, close out of CK3 tool, then power on the lite-on, eject the tray, power off the drive, push the tray half way in (half-closed state) and then power the drive back on. Then open up jungleflasher. In jungleflasher go straight to the DVDKey32 tab. Set the I/O Port section up to whatever sata port that you found through CK3 tool. Do the same for the Com Port section. Then look under the Drive Properties section and see if it properly identifies your lite-on drive. If it does, place your probe into the R707 hole and then click the Get Key button. It might be easier if you have a friend to click the button or hold the probe in the hole. Then just see if it will nab your key, identify and inquiry files.

If it does, go to the Firmtool32 tab and click Load from dump files. Load up your key, identify and inquiry files. Then click Open Target Firmware and select the lite-on ixtreme 1.5 firmware from the package. Then click spoof source to target. Then click Save to File and choose where to save it.

At that point, close out of jungleflasher. Then plug in your USB flash drive that you used iprep to make bootable. Then open the ixtreme 1.5 firmware folder and copy the DOS folder, not just the contents of the folder, but the entire folder and put that on your USB flash drive. Then copy your hacked firmware file into the DOS folder on your USB flash drive. Once you have that done, boot to the USB flash drive. Once your at the DOS prompt, type "CD DOS" without the quotes and hit enter. That should change the directory to the DOS folder. Then from there, follow this video from about the 8 minute 15 second mark. He doesn't change directories in this video, but just get your computer booted up to DOS and change to the DOS directory first and then follow the video from that point and it will work to flash the drive.

thanks sadalius for the detailed reply. i have found away round this before i saw your post its alittle weired but it worked i was using vt6421a pci card which only has one sata connection so i changed to my on board sata connection wich has 2 ports i also got the same problem , what idid was put the sata lead to the first port on my motherboard then got to the point in iprep were it said invaled key with the drive door still half open what idid was turn of the lieton drive and with the compter still on and still in dos moved the sata lead on the pc,s motherboard to the second port then again typed dlite 1234567 12345 enter turned the liteon on with the drive still half closed hit y put the probe on the lieton hit enter and
all was done the just flashed it as i was at it flashing was easy becasue i could pick what port my drive was on.
my friend is bringing his back up hope the problem i had with the green dimm light was just down to the lead not being in fully could i have just read the key in jungle flasher then drop them into iprep and flashed the drive i have heared so many bad reports on jungle flasher locking up

jungle will sometimes lockup when using a VIA card. I use a VIA card, but have no problems using jungleflasher. But the problem comes from when you hit the lite-on erase button in jungle. You can use it to get your key, indentify and inquiry, make the dummy file and make the hacked firmware and then use dosflash to finish it off or just use iprep like you did before.
