Re: Sata cards that are proven to work!
If you have a VIA chipset on your motherboard, it's worth a try. I've flashed about 20 on my VIA 8237 mobo

And if at first you don't succeed..? Order the damn card!

Mirc is a place to chat, post up on the site for help!!!

NForce 680i SLI
Works with: Hitachi drives using default Windows drivers.
(The Sata Controller on this chipset is based off of the NF590)
Rosewill RC-215
Works with: BenQ. LiteOn and Sam (I haven't personally used it with a Hitachi, but it should work)
(This card is exactly the same as the RC-212 that CoFree recommended. It's just a cheaper version w/o external Sata ports)
Note: After installing this card using the drivers provided on the CD, Windows was detecting it as 3249 instead of 6421.
I tried several other drivers with no change until getting 5.30c from a friend. I have heard that 5.50b and older all work.

Onboard NVIDIA Nforce chipset,
AMD Phenom 9600 processor,
Worked 98% flawless with CK3 Pro + Probe. 2 % coz of COM ports not being displayed, so as advised by JungleFlasher support team, i typed it in manually - in my case ( as displayed in Device Manager under COM ports) it was COM4, to i typed it in, all good from that point.

Re: Sata cards that are proven to work!
I got my card from ebay. I've flashed two benQ so far with no problems, even using Jungle Flasher. Once I receive my new mobo with nForce 630i I'll let you know how that goes as well. And for drivers check this out Driver Detective!!

Re: Sata cards that are proven to work!
Hi guys,
Heres my dilemma,
Hope ive posted in correct place this time,
Last night I downloaded and loaded up Iprep, I presumed I had the right chipset being NVIDIA, Anyway as default Iprep loaded up AV40POCD, I thought what is this, Ive searched and searched for this device and found nothing, The drop down menu wernt even available so I presumed it was this.
Then today I load up again to find a drop down with My NVIDIA MCP61 Serial ATA controller. In device manager under SCSI and RAID controllers is only 1 device, The one above, AV40P0CD, and further up the list in device manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers I find the NVIDIA MCP61 at the top, Which is the correct one as im a little unsure.
Thanks for any help, I will probs need somemore help a bit later, and again sorry if ive posted in wrong place.
Thanks !

Re: Sata cards that are proven to work!
well man
we will get it right sooner or later.
ok no this is not the right place to ask a question.
This thread is for people to post up sata controllers that they know to work.
You can read over it and see what the other guys have that work for them.
This is a link to the 1st page of the thread.
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... f=63&t=295" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
now if you have any more question please post in the section you think is best fitting to your problem.
Being that you did not say what kind of dvd drive you have anyone tell you one way or the other would just be a shoot in the dark.
the 360 group of threads here is where most if not all question should fit in.
you should start your own thread by the way.

Please guys keep this thread only for post on sata chipsets that you know 100% that work.

Re: Sata cards that are proven to work!
You can get some nforce boards to work, first thing you'll have to do is set your sata to work in Legacy mode (or just plain old SATA, depends which BIOS you have)...
I do almost all my flashing on my nforce board, and I know a couple of people here have Mobo's that work as well but it really is the luck of the draw whether you can get it to work or not. One thing I would say is try any SATA, if it can get a good dump, then you should be able to flash with it. If you can't get it to read, then you haven't harmed anything and you'll just have to wait for you VIA card

Re: Sata cards that are proven to work!
No worries Ill go elsewhere, Aint got the time to keep repeating myself over and over, I have the Benq drive by the way.
Ive never known such a fussy place, You gave me the link saying this may help, I ask a question and you say to look at compatable ones, Thats not the question I was asking, I spent about 30 mins writing my issue, twice. Like I said all it needed was a simple Yes/No !

Re: Sata cards that are proven to work!
well sorry to here that.
but
you did post in the wrong spot and your question is not a yes or no question.
most on board sata ports will not work some will.
The one chipset pci card that will work on a samsung or benq is the via6421a or l
and yes
we do run a very clean,no thread hi-jacking site.
