hitachi v59 not detected in windows
hi there,i have a very stubborn drive i wish to flash..i have previously flashed an exact same v59 with no problems, and a sammy ms28...i have now managed to get drive into modeB(had to resort to 2 wire trick)
i am using a ViA sata card...3 PORT SATA + 1 IDE PCI CARD VIA-VT6421A
after modeB.i power on pc after connecting sata cable and windows boots(while ejecting the disc tray on drive),,drive isnt listed in device manager..i opened jungleflasher and installed portIO32 drivers and still no drive detected..
any ideas,am i missing something,or is it just not compatible with my chipset?
if there is anything else i need to add, please let me know and i will do so...thanks in advance if anyone can help

Re: hitachi v59 not detected in windows
Are you using the internal port on the Via card?

don't worry if your card doesn't look exactly like this one.

jungle is buggy at best with the via card.sas67 wrote:i am using a ViA sata card.
that is just a iprep thingdalecheesy wrote:Are you using the internal port on the Via card?
iprep will only index the main )or 1st) port of any card or mobo.
jungle should find it on any port.
like i said jungle is buggy on a via.

Try this if you haven't.
How to remove your VIA Drivers:
Right click My Computer
Click Properties
Click Hardware
Click Device Manager
Click the + next to SCSI and Raid Controllers
Right click your Via 6421 and select Disable
Navigate to your WINDOWS\system32\drivers directory
Delete the file viamraid.sys
Reboot and go back to the Device Manager
There should be a
next to your Via 6421 card
You have successfully removed your VIA Drivers
-
Now install Port I/O
Connect your drive to your CK3 and Sata card
Power up your CK3 and start Jungleflasher
Tick Port I/O (right under Windows API
Your drive should show up on the left side.

hi guys, thanks for all your advice.hitachi 59 is now flashed.i used the xecutor connectivity kit v2 and x360 sata to usb.in jungle it gave me drive letter straight away so just dumped drive then flashed with 1.5.1..was real easy and fast...now on to my next 360,this time it got a phillips-benq drive VAD6038..

Re: hitachi v59 not detected in windows
well if i remember rightly,i turned pc off and connected the ck v2 to dvd drive.plugged x360 into drive also and into usb port on pc.powered up pc and pc saw the usb and installed drivers.i powered up ck v2 and at first it froze pc again...i turned off ck v2 and back on again, this made pc reboot itself(i panicked at this moment.thought id blown it up).but it rebooted and again found new hardware, only this time it mentioned the hitachi drive also.so let it boot up fully and clicked my computer, and saw drive E was dvd drive,i clicked eject and hitachi tray did so.i was over the moon.i started up jungleflasher and in drive window was E:hitachi gdr3120L..i was still trying the ports to get drive detected(still a noob at this, lol).but after talking in irc i just clicked dump drive and it did..i had already put 1.5.1 firmware into jungle folder so just hit flash ixtreme and it did, real quick.tested it and it works beautifully...hope this helps cofree mate
