Firmware flash limit?
Firmware flash limit?
Is there a limit on how many times you can flash a drive???
Re: Firmware flash limit?
Potentially you could flash your drive a million times. But with anything there is wear and tear on the microprocessors (MP) containing the info in the flash. Some IC's (Integrated Circuits) will last longer than others. But you'll probably never flash it enough to reach the breakdown limit. Your laser is more likely to break down before the MP does.

Cool..... Thanks man.

Re: Firmware flash limit?
Flash chips and processors lifespans are measured in hours rather that how many times they've been flashed. This is because the mere act of having them on is what takes away from their life. The heat that is generated by them is the grim reaper of the chips. They don't actually wear out, they electicity travels across the little microscopic pathways until a pathways or two gets burned out.
