Sweet, someone else finally gets an iphone
I sent you a pm
If you just got the phone I'll assume it's already on firmware 2.2.1, let me know if you're not.

Re: I use QuickPwn, Now what?
First thing I did after jailbreaking was browse through cydia and find things to download
First thing I downloaded I believe was open SSH.
Actually thats a lie first time I jailbroke Cydia wasnt around, it was installer

Installer was the $hit...before firmware 2.0....
But it took them way too long to get a grasp of the new firmware and cydia moved ahead of them.
I haven't used installer since, don't even know what's on their anymore.

http://sleepers.net/2008/10/23/compiled ... installer/
Those look pretty comprehensive but I dunno if you're looking for something specific.
Keep checking the link I sent you, when it gets back up things will make more sense
This is nifty too, you can browse cydia with your pc to see repositories

Re: I use QuickPwn, Now what?
Installer was soooo dumb on the 2.0 FW. When you open it, it takes about 20 mins to load, there was way too many images, and wayyyyy to many things to download before you were able to actually use the app. For me, I felt it was way to slow, and haven't used it for anything... I think the last thing I used it for was something to enable hotmail use with the mail app. (Although you can just use hotmail on the mail.app now anyways...)BobSeager wrote:Installer was the $hit...before firmware 2.0....![]()

Also, a great site for iPod/iPhone hacking is http://www.ipodtouchfansforum.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; check it out if you want info... (I believe they dominate the iPod/iPhone modding scene... They're quite popular.)

Re: I use QuickPwn, Now what?
The advantage Cydia has over Installer was moving the application partiton to allow for more apps to be installed, countless times the "your running out of space" please delete stuff came up with installer got annoying, I just take Cydia for granted these days. Saurik and co are genius.
Old thread I know but I just had to add my bit!
And I have an iPhone, since release.
