just any fyi: i just flashed a friends liteon w/ 1.51 using iprep 8.8 w/ no problems.
Well one problem...i was using ck3 pro and i accidently pressed eject after i closed it half way and turned it back on. It made some crazy sound...i thought i broke the drive. (needless to say i was sweating bullets). I just started all over and it worked like a charm. I'm still not sure what the sound was if you have any ideas let me know...i don't want to do that again

Re: flashed liteon w/ 1.51 and iprep
Congrats bro....I'm so jealous. I've been trying to dump the key off a stock lite on for the last couple of days and still no go. I tried every possible method, hardware setup, and still no go. My only hope is that I'm getting bad dumps because I'm not using the probe. Meanwhile I have to seat my ass down and wait for the probe to come in the mail. Also, I hope my CK3 hasn't sucked *ick yet!
BTW man, that's pretty interesting that you did on Iprep. The big guys (CoFree and Sadalius) have mentioned there's a lot of trouble dumping the key with iPrep. If you happen to flash another lite on with iprep, please post results. Good luck!

Was the drive still upside down? If so thats the problem. No damage was done, drive is fine.
Re: flashed liteon w/ 1.51 and iprep
I used to try to alleviate the sound issue by tilting the drive upwards while on its back but now I don't bother with that. The easiest way to get rid of the issue is to remove the top plate once you remove the bottom plate from the drive. It comes off very easily and goes back on in a cinch. Now that I do this there is no more, let's say, scary noise

Alright man!, So are you saying I shouldn't (in theory at least) run into trouble dumping the lite on key and making the hacked fw as long as I'm going from stock to 1.51.?CoFree wrote:well the trouble some off us are having is iprep building a v1.51 hack firmware from a v1.5 hacked firmware.bittersuit_98 wrote:The big guys (CoFree and Sadalius) have mentioned there's a lot of trouble dumping the key with iPrep.
