OK - I have a Kreon drive and use XBC to back up my games. I understand the new wave 3 and updating my I Xtreme fw. To date I have successfully "backed up" about 40 games and have never stealth checked, SS verified any of them ;Fallout 3 and Deadspace ( released in October 08) were the last game I backed up. I have never been banned, but I only use Live for updates (Silver).
Now I see this prog called "abgx v1.0.0" and everyone is using it. I thought that using a Kreon drive eliminated the need for all these checks on the iso, ss, stealth etc.
So do I need to start using all these different progs to check my files and waiting until the progs are updated with the files?
I searched the forums but can't find a straight answer .
Thanks

Re: Do I need to start stealth checking?
Buddy... i hear ya!!!
I personally have always checked my games..for piece of mind. On occasion, not very often, i would have a splitvid issue with 1 of my back ups. xbc went through flawlessly but that would fail on the check so i delete the file, clean my disc and it would be fine that time. Cant explain it.. computer hiccup maybe..
This new program that everyone is mentioning, abgx360, looks like its more detailed and up to date than the stealth check in xbc. It totally breaks down each file area and can actually be a little intimidating to look at, but very informative.
As for whether or not u should stealth check..
Basicly.. its a good idea. You just never know. The Kreon just allows you to read the information on that disc. It doesnt actually do anything to the game, thats what your software programs are for.
I like to check cause i back up my friends games for them and dont want theirs getting screwed up.
Again.. piece of mind.

Re: Do I need to start stealth checking?
if you do your backup from a in hand orig game.keithkramer wrote:So do I need to start using all these different progs to check my files
then i would say you dont have to and if you do
dont like abg360 change any of your files any way.
Because you know its from the real orig game.
but
that is just me.
I will from time to time check a few backup iso just to
double check.
and i check the ss every time with the kreonchecker.
They say you dont have to anymore
but
i still do.

Ya man you can never be really to safe. Would you want to wast like 15-45min (based on speed it checks ur games at) doing abgx or get banned for life? I personally pick 15-45 min

Re: Do I need to start stealth checking?
I always check my backups, but as cofree says I don't allow ABGX to 'fix' them from the database...
I also still use the Kreon Checker, even if the firmware automatically adjusts for it. You want your backup to be as close to the orig as possible, anything else leaves you open to the mighty Hammer
